Typhoon Luis Threatens NCR and Parts of Luzon Flood

Typhoon Luis (international name: Kalmaegi) thumped Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon causing a threat to heavy floods, according to PAGASA on Sunday evening. <br /> <br /> A warning level of Orange has been announced to the areas of Bataan, Bulacan, NCR (National Capital Region), Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Rizal, Tarlac, Zambales around 7 in the evening while a warning level of Yellow has been issued in Batangas, Cavite, Laguna and Quezon. PAGASA's color-coded warning system of level Orange indicates a threatening flood. On the other hand, level Yellow means a flooding in low-lying areas. In the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration's report, an alert for possible evacuation is notified. We have seen movies depicting movies depicting sharks as the enemy lurking in the seas waiting for unknowing victims. With their numerous sets of teeth, who wouldn’t get afraid of the so-called “cold-blooded” creatures? Who or what could dare fight off the carnivorous daredevils of the great waters? <br /> <br /> Answers? The photograph took by Paice showed Brutus latching on the bull shark on Kakadu’s Adelaid River. It then swam off into the mangroves to devour its prey. <br /> <br /> It was said that the tour guide was making Brutus jump by feeding him meat. The crocodile was quite well known in the area for being able to jump so high despite its old age. When the tour is nearing to its end and all the crocodiles along the river have been fed, they went back to the jetty when they saw the crocodile had something in its mouth. Morgan, the tour guide from Adelaide River Cruises shifted the boat back seeing Brutus on the river bank carrying a shark with its mouth. <br /> <br /> Mr. Paice narrates, “The shark was definitely alive, it was still wriggling. The crocodile slid back into the water and the shark started to flip around a bit. The the crocodile swam into the mangroves, I guess to protect his catch.” <br /> <br /> Now, who could even think of saying at least once in his life time: “Poor shark, being helplessly eaten a crocodile,”? <br /> <br /> Andrew Paice, on the other hand, is on his fourth month into a year-long trip around Australia with his partner, Nikki and 7-year-old daughter, Madison. He expressed his amazement, stating that even he could not believe he captured the moment. According to him, seeing the crocodiles jumping and about, he was in awe, but what happened that day was definitely hard to top. <br /> <br /> <br />

Cornejo and Lee Transferred to Regular City Jail

<br /> MANILA, Philippines – <b>Deniece Cornejo and Cedric Lee are finally cleared to transfer to a regular city jail after the Taguig Regional Trial Court </b>denied any of their motions and pleas to prohibit and delay the possible transfer. <br /> <br /> Businessman <b>Cedric Lee, commercial model Deniece Cornejo </b>and martial artist <b>Simeon Palma Raz Jr.</b> who are accused in the assault, grave coercion and serious illegal detention of Vhong Navarro, a host have been reasoning out that “their safety and their lives will be greatly endangered” if they won’t be allowed to stay in their current detention facilities anymore. Moreover, Lee and Raz appealed also arguing that Navarro’s “celebrity status” and the case’s great media exposure will make them vulnerable to inmates in a regular jail. <br /> <br /> Lee and Raz’ lawyers made a statement regarding this: "That even before the DOJ had allegedly found probable cause against them, they had already received numerous threats on their lives which necessitated for them to go into hiding.” <br /> <br /> Paz Cortes, however, said that the inmates have no access to Internet services whatsoever and could not possibly be among those who allegedly threaten the accused’ lives. The Taguig court judge has also personally inspected all three jail facilities under its jurisdiction and conducted several interviews with the wardens and inmates. Cortes reported that, "The interview of the Court on the detained prisoners had resulted [in] a finding that the detained prisoners had not hatred in mind against the accused herein.” <br /> <br /> With the current motions, the loopholes of which Cornejo, Lee and Raz can remain in their current detention facilities remain very narrow.

He has been passed on to doctors to doctors but without success on identifying the cause of the problem. The form uses simple geometry to create an elegant appearance, while also giving the venue a powerful presence within its setting,” he said. <br /> <br /> <b>B) Construction </b><br /> Built on 99,200 square meters of land at Ciudad de Victoria, a tourism enterprise zone in Bocaue and Santa Maria, Bulacan, Philippines; world-class Hanwa Construction of South Korea leads the construction of this multi-purpose megastructure. On a short history of the firm, they are best recognized for its construction of Ansan Sports Complex (Ansan, Korea), Suwon Complex (Suwon, Korea), Haeundae Hanwha Resort (Busan, Korea), IT Complex (Seoul, Korea) and KINTEX 2nd Exhibition Center (Goyang, Korea). <br /> <br /> This 36,000 square meter dome has a roof which spans 160 meters and contains a staggering 9,000 tons of steel work (which was built as a separate unit to reduce the burden on the arena). Design </b><br /> The humongous masterpiece owes its design to Populous, a global mega-architecture firm in Brisbane Australia. They made sure that the arena will enable at least 50,000 people to gather inside the building and 50,000 more to meet at a ‘live site’ or a plaza outside for major events. The initial design concept roots down to the Narra tree, the national tree of the Philippines and inspired by the root of the Banyan tree. Moreover, the roof was conceptualized to a Nipa hut. <br /> <br /> It is a one-sided bowl with the lower bowl as the most frequently used part of the building. Its design allows separation of the lower bowl from the upper tier using acoustic and thermal properties. Another difference from the standard arena is the layout of the seats which resembles a Greek amphitheater, a semi-circle with seats at the sides and front of the stage. It is also divided by three sections into which colored by green, white and red—the colors of the Iglesia ni Cristo flag. <br /> <br /> Despite the continuing criticisms to the INC church, it never stopped them from growing and building more and more churches. An interesting, horrifying incident happened in Russia’s Rostov Region on which a <b>bear bit off the hand of a 5-year old girl.</b> The story that leads to the accident, according to the mother, was that her child was just helping on her job when her daughter requested to get her picture taken in front of a caged bear to show off her friends. The cage of the bear was surrounded with a metallic grid with an aperture size of 89 cm by 74 cm to allow approach on the animal. A while later, the bear attacked the girl and when the mother tried to pull her away, it was too late, the bear was already chewing on the hand. With the help of the center’s visitors, the girl was rushed to the hospital. The girl was rushed to the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) and spent several days in the hospital. Moreover, there have been modern security changes which includes anodized bolts which, the <b>LTO claims, to be tamper-proof and won’t be detached without damaging the bolts and the plates.</b> The plates will also have a <b>reflective sheeting material that enhance wide-angled visibility and can be seen up to a 100-meter distance</b>. The agency will also release “third-plate” stickers with the vehicles’ plate number for the windshields that leave a mark when torn off. <br /> <br /> People will also have to say goodbye to the <b>old design of the plates: the blue/white/green or blue/yellow/green gradient with the picture of Rizal’s monument as a background and the bylines</b>- “Matatag na Republika”, “Pilipinas” or “Perlas ng Silangan”. Instead there will be a color change, with two solid colors as the design on which private vehicles will have <b>black on white, public ones</b> will retain the <b>black on yellow;</b> government-owned motor vehicles and motorcycles will have the same <b>red-on-white plates while diplomatic plates deploy the blue-on-white design</b>. Added unto that, protocol plates will use the green-on-white design previously assigned to private motor vehicles and motorcycles while other exempt vehicles will use black-on-blue hue. These, according to LTO, will help people recognize the vehicle ownership. Also, PUV’s plate will indicate region and PUB’s will indicate whether it is a provincial or a city bus with their third-plate stickers indicate their routes. <br /> <br /> Although some drivers went against these decisions, the LTO defended that these new plates will actually help weed out colorum vehicles, reduce traffic and enforce the law more effectively. It will also help avoid the modus operandi: “tanggal plaka”, carjacking and officers will easily discover those vehicles which are stolen and were transported to another place. <br /> <br /> The LTO also announced that even though there were changes in the vehicle plates, the current price will hold, with 450 php for four-wheeled vehicles and 120 php for motorcycles. <br />
